History of Science

I've added several sections to my History of Science plan I am working through with Kevan.

We have taken about 6 weeks to cover what is listed there so far; we do science three days a week usually.

You can access the outlines from the Pages section over to the right.  Here are the sections that are there so far:

As I mentioned here, I am working to create a History of Science course for Kevan, my 11 y.o. history nut. This is totally a work in progress, but I thought I would share what we are doing in case someone else would like to try it. Our primary resources are:

  • Aristotle Leads the Way - Book 1 of the History of Science series by Joy Hakim; we will use the others when we get to them
  • History of Science lectures from The Teaching Company (we purchased this when it was on sale for $49.95)
  • Cosmeo videos
  • Google

Each topic will have an outline (some are created by me; some by Kevan as we read) which includes the main topics of the chapters listed, as well as outside resources we used with that topic.

Aristotle Leads the Way

1. Birthing a Universe

2. Myths of Creation

3. Making Days

4. Ionia

5. Greeks - still in process
