Nothing exciting…

This week was kind of hectic but not really newsworthy.
William’s friend Nick (hi Nick) spent the night on the weekend. We visited First Christian’s Sunday service and liked it pretty well. We had Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts start back up. The kids are attempting to sell chocolate bars, but every night of the week we’ve been too busy to drop them at the store to sell this week.
I’m too tired. I am gonna get a piano soon. Yeah, that’s it.

Nojoqui Falls Park

Me and the kids ventured off to Nojoqui Park today. William and Kevan pushed their bikes up the hill to the waterfall (we left Kevan’s most of the way up). When we got there, it was a pretty impressive cliff, but not a whole lot of water coming down! Still very pretty though. Kevan and Ben went in the water. Kevan even went behind the waterfall. Then William and Kevan climbed the side of the mountain.
There’s pictures in the photo album!

School is on!

So far so good! School started Wednesday and we’re all enjoying it so far.
Ben has gotten to know his new teacher, Mrs. R, and he seems to have bonded with her. He is happy to go to school each day! Friday he brought snack to share with his class.
Kevan is with Mrs. Klein, which is the teacher he wanted to have. She has put him to work already and he has been doing homework since the first day of school!
William is in jr. high now, and says I am the more boring of the two junior high teachers, lol. I think I’ll survive that insult! Hehe. He is taking Tech 1 (computers) and PE for electives.

I am enjoying myself so far. The 30 8th graders is not as much of an issue as I thought it might be. I only have 20 for math, and 21 for math and science with 7th grade, so 2 periods a day with 30 is manageable. I will have a teacher’s aide to help with labs and stuff for that class. The yearbook class is very cool and will save me lots and lots of after school hours working on the yearbook. It is different having only two classes, one 7th and one 8th but in some ways it’s easier - less students, so it’s easier to help them all. It was very easy to learn the 7th graders names - I already know them all because there’s only 21 of them instead of over 40. So that’s all for now.
Will’s still doing the same old thing, lol. Not much to report there, except he’s going to some kind of bigwig convention next week and doing big favors for the vp of the school. Last night he went out drinking with him (hehe, just kidding - he didn’t drink, he just went to some social event for the school).
